1st place in contest Special Project: IED For Sustainability by IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, “Interior Design” category (Milan, IT, 2008)
I chose to explore the concept of sustainable design applied to one of the most polluting businesses - the restaurants.

The aim was to undertake a place-sensitive intervention in a 3 story house from the 1940’s located in Lisbon.
This was achieved by the study and application of a sustainable method of work: defining eco-friendly guidelines to the refurbish of the building as a restaurant.

INTERVENTION

The first step was to analyse the inherent characteristics of the construction, focusing on how to take advantage of those in the decisions concerning interior space and the building’s surroundings, with the goal of maximising sustainability.

The interior decoration, ambiance and furniture also followed this concept of sustainability, health and purity.
